The Director Operations oversees and directs all operations within the IND Systems sub-vertical globally.
He/she is directly responsible for the manufacturing and production processes in IND Systems plants, for the Integrated Supply Chain Planning (including S&OP and OV/OTE Planning), for Tactical Procurement (incl. NPI), Quality Assurance and Manufacturing Engineering.
He/she actively drives all implementations of company’s standards and programs to improve manufacturing efficiencies and on time deliveries using TEOA and Lean Manufacturing concepts.
His/her operations related activities are closely aligned with the PLPs, Sales, Functional Leaders and BU/sub-vertical Controlling to ensure products are manufactured according to specification, minimizing total cost and providing Extraordinary Customer Experience.
Responsibilities:
Manage the team, (manage results oriented, based on strong KPI’s follow up, drive team spirit, coordinate transversal activities, lead the organizational change, increase the skill level of work force, build a work force with flexible skills to meet changing product needs, focus on employee satisfaction)
Actively contribute to the professional growth of employees, identifying key players, proposing actions aimed at motivating key employees. Develop talents and future leaders.
Direct and mentor staff of managers and leaders, provide feedback on performance and developmental planning using our myHR and OLR systems
Provide strong leadership to Functional Leaders, Plant Managers and Site
Leaders in order to ensure proper performance of duties and achievement of assigned objectives
Actively remove road blocks for Functional Leaders, Plant Managers and Site Leaders to help in achieving their targets and goals
Has the overall responsibility for the IND Systems operations strategies and footprint roadmaps – under strong and close alignment with the VP Operations and the overall IND Business and Operations Strategy
Has the overall responsibility to execute the IND Systems footprint strategy including migrations, integrations of acquired companies and plant shut downs
Has the overall responsibility to drive Flexible Automation to adjust the production equipment to the needs of low volume / high mix manufacturing
Has the overall responsibility for the IND Systems operations budgets and ensures these are in line with corporate, regional and BU guidelines
Has the overall responsibility for the IND Systems manufacturing sites for maintaining quality policies and for increasing the plant quality performances to ensure customer satisfaction and continuous improvement of products and services.
Has the overall responsibility for the IND Systems manufacturing sites for the safety and security of all employees in the manufacturing sites and ensures that all corporate, regional and BU safety rules are followed
Has the overall responsibility for the IND Systems manufacturing sites for the proper utilisation and maintenance of all IND Systems manufacturing assets and properties
Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations as well as all the company’s policies and procedures
Federate employees to feel part of one team and of the company
Energize employees and involve them to make the company a great place to work
Work in alignment with senior management to address works council issues and management staff issues related with IR and compensation and benefits perspective.
Qualifications:
B.S. degree in electrical, mechanical or industrial engineering
6+ years experience in demonstrated process improvement success
5+ years experience in utilizing OpEx, SixSigma and Lean tools/methodologies
10+ years of management experience - Industrial industry preferred
Strong analytical, strategic and tactical skills
Problem solving attitude. Exceptional skill at organizing and prioritizing tasks
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong team formation and leadership skills
Ability to form successful working relationships quickly at all levels
