RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
·Assist Product Development Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers in equipment development.
·Assist in the determination of equipment needs for manufacturing.
·Design and development of manufacturing tools, fixtures and equipment.
·Assist with the procurement of approved assembly equipment, jigs and fixtures.
·Provide technical guidance to shop personnel (Manufacturing Specialists) with regard to tooling development machining / shop issues and safety.
·Assist in solving production problems as needed.
·Assist in the assessment of production efficiency and determine possible enhancements to manufacturing process, tools, fixtures and equipment to improve quality, efficiency and/or meet cost objectives.
Job skills
Job Experience
- Minimum 5 years experience in manufacturing environment with extensive experience in design and development of tooling, fixtures and equipment.
- CAD training and/or experience, preferably with Solid Works or other solid modeling software.
- Proficient in the application and use of drafting standards, standard dimensioning practices and GD&T
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills
