Budgeting and strategic planning for server and client infrastructure areas. Responsible for cost estimates, budget, and roadmap/blueprint architecture planning of both areas Server and Client
Manage a global team of system administrators and contracts and relationships with external vendors.
Manage Microsoft licensing relationship, including inventory and reporting of yearly True Up and Online Services costs.
Maintains Server and Client Documentation – Document and maintain all hardware inventory for Servers and Client equipment, Document Server Infrastructure and all Policies and Procedures associated to the both areas (Server and Client)
Enforce basic service management process and behaviors among team members.
On-call to respond to respond to major IT incidents and outages.
Server
Maintain server infrastructure- Work to provide maximum availability of server resources. Monitor and manage server systems, including virtual hosts, VDI and guest operating systems.
Business Analysis- Participate in the business planning process and align the IT functions to meet the business needs.
IT Organization support- Communicate with and support activities of the fellow IT staffs in Telecom & Infrastructure - Enterprise Applications - ERP and PMO groups. Participate in SME group activities.
Administration- Coordinate internal and external technical resources to provide maintenance and support of installed IT global server infrastructure. Review proposed purchases for justification and adherence to standards.
Work with IT team(s) to resolve server issues as they are presented – i.e.; IT Tickets and Reported incidents
Maintain server farms – i.e.; Suggest and implement upgrades and updates as needed to maintain the health of all server systems.
Implement and manage Office 365 services such as Exchange Online, Skype Online OneDrive for Business and Teams.
Client
Maintain Client Hardware Lifecycle - this includes standard workstations, laptops, thin clients, kiosks, shop floor systems, and mobile devices. Document standards and exceptions. Support and repair existing infrastructure and plan for future upgrades/replacements. Evaluate market trends and new client technologies that can improve efficiency in the business.
Maintain Client Software Lifecycle – this pertains mostly to Microsoft License Agreements related to the client infrastructure. Ensure software license compliance. Understand the existing licensing landscape and what is required to achieve future roadmap/blueprint goals. Lead projects to upgrade client operating systems or client application software.
Maintain Client Systems Management & Monitoring Tools. Utilize the infrastructure tools; such as Antivirus, System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Active Directory, Login Scripting, Group Policies & Preferences, etc., to effectively manage the client environment.
Responsible for developing and approving the client imaging process. Responsible for the distribution of application packages, utilities, drivers, and OS patches.
Responsible for all aspects of Output Management including harmonization and standardization of the printer environment (printing, scanning, copying, faxing) and managing Client Infrastructure Output Engineers.
Responsible for providing technical solutions to support Service Desk staff.
Proactively examine end-user device performance and implement solutions to add value and efficiency to the business.
Close engagement and collaboration with the Network and communication team to Design an appropriate corporate WAN, LAN and WLAN infrastructure to support global network and increasingly cloud-based services.
Understanding of network devices including switches, routers, wireless access points, and SDWAN equipment.
Job skills
Technical degree, Computer Science or MIS degree or equivalent IT related experience.
Seven plus years IT/MIS experience as Windows Systems Engineer, Windows Client Support, or equivalent.
Experience with Windows server operating systems from 2003 to 2012 R2.
Experience with virtualization technologies, specifically VMware ESXi 5.x.
Experience with Network LAN/WAN, Desktop PC’s, Applications and Operating system is a plus.
